Broad Spectrum Fun Facts
Broad spectrum sunscreen was mandated by the FDA in 2014 for manufacturers to formulate equal levels of UVA and UVB protection, now protecting both sunburn and skin cancer.
SPF15 screens 93% of the sun’s UVB rays SPF30 protects against 97% SPF50 protects against 98% SPF100 protects against 99% and a lot more chemical for a smidge more protection.
To ensure full sunscreen protection, you should apply at least 1oz (about a shot glass) of sunscreen. Reapplication is just as important as the first application. The FDA recommends reapplying every 2 hours.
